Therapeutic Massage
Therapeutic massage sessions address general tension and stress, as well as target specific areas of discomfort or pain in the body or specific issues. The most common areas targeted are lower back, neck and shoulders. Besides relieving muscle tension or discomfort and reducing pain, a session can help increase range of motion. Long, flowing strokes are used to calm and soothe the central nervous system and to allow the body to then accept a little deeper pressure to specific muscles, but not deep enough that it will cause pain. Does therapeutic massage need to hurt to help? Absolutely not.
Conditions that benefit from therapeutic massage include:
Neck pain
Lower back pain
Shoulder pain
Migraines
Anxiety or stress
Plantar fasciitis
Joint pain
Muscle spasms
Sports injuries
Digestive disorders
Fibromyalgia
