Reiki

Reiki is an ancient Japanese therapy used to promote relaxation, reduce stress and ease aches and pains.  Reiki involves gentle, non-invasive placement of hands on the client’s body. It is based on the principle that the practitioner can channel energy into the client by means of touch, to activate the client’s natural healing process and restore their emotional, mental and physical well-being.  It is a very gentle modality and is usually conducted with the client fully clothed. Many clients find Reiki to be very pleasant and deeply relaxing.  Some experience warmth or tingling during the session. Reiki is different from massage in that there is no physical manipulation of muscles and tissues.  Reiki is suitable for everyone.

Many esteemed hospitals are incorporating Reiki into their offerings, including Yale-New Haven, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, George Washington University, Memorial Sloan Kettering, Cleveland Clinic, New York Presbyterian, Mayo Clinic, and Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
